MEMPHIS, Tenn. - I came to Memphis in 1978 From Dallas, Texas to work for WREG-TV Ch. 3 as a reporter.

During my time at the CBS Memphis Affiliate I covered everything from Elvis’ first birthday celebration after his death in 1977 to Jerry Lee Lewis near death and recovery at Baptist Hospital, which is now gone. But Jerry Lee is still with us and so am I.

After a couple of years at Channel Three I was made a very handsome offer to leave T.V. and become a morning radio show co-host with Ron Olson at FM-100. I took the job and had a blast working with Ron and learning about morning radio. But T.V. News was my first love and after about 6 months I returned to Channel 3 where I spent another 8 years before venturing into the restaurant business.

That part of my life included a floating restaurant named the Sunset Café and was located on the Mississippi River just down from where Beale Street dead ends into Riverside Drive. While That was up and going my partners and I opened Sleep Out Louies at Union and Main and I ran that restaurant for two years before selling out to my partners.

I worked for the Orpheum Theatre as Director of Development. A short time later I was offered a job as Vice President of Public Relations for Walker and Associates were I worked until going back into broadcasting as the morning anchor for WMC TV CH. 5.

After working for the Memphis NBC station I started my own production company and produced and hosted a TV show named My Favorite Restaurant which has aired on WKNO TV PBS in Memphis for almost 8 years and I also produced and aired the show in Houston, Texas for one year.

I am very happy to now be doing mornings with the gang on Good Morning Memphis and once again bringing the great people of the Mid-South a little bit of Memphis life each morning.

My wife Cathy of almost 22 years and my 20 year old son, J.B. and 15 year old daughter Taylor are also happy about my return to TV and Fox. They say "it just fits you Dad."
