NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Some rural areas in Tennessee are still without access to local television stations after the FCC airwaves changed from analog to digital signals in June.
Those include areas with hilly terrain and that are far from signal antennas, such as Dover in Stewart County and Hohenwald in Lewis County.
According to Nashville newspaper The Tennessean, the Federal Communications Commission has identified several major cities with ongoing signal problems, including Nashville.
Spokesman Rick Kaplan said that areas with fuzzy TV pictures before have likely lost their signals entirely because with digital "you either have a picture or you don't."
Kaplan said engineers are working toward solutions.
