    RE:FUEL 4.0, a City-wide Men's Conference, featuring Phil Robertson from Duck Dynasty.  RE:FUEL Memphis, Inc., a local non-profit, is hosting the 4th annual RE:FUEL Men's Conference on Friday, April 19 from 4:00 PM – 10:30 PM at 1100 Cherry Road (Harding Academy of Memphis).  The 2013 conference theme is STOP!, inspired by Exodus 14:14 (The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still).  This year, the conference will help men STOP behaviors that typically distance them from God such as isolation, busyness, addiction and control.  Speakers include Phil Robertson (star of the A&E TV show Duck Dynasty), Don McLaughlin and John Bryson. The evening will also include a BBQ dinner, musical entertainment, workshops and breakout sessions for worship and prayer.   More than 1,200 men are expected to attend.     First Baptist Church of Nesbit invites everyone to the Nesbit Purple Hull Pea Festival, Saturday, April 20, from 9 am - 3 pm.  The church is located at 1645 Hwy. 51 (at Pleasant Hill Rd).  Proceeds will fund local/national mission projects.  Activities include: over 30 vendor booths with handcrafted items and popular product lines; free peas & cornbread (11am-1pm); kids' area with fun bounces, face painting and pony rides (10am-2pm); bake sale; quilt show; silent auction with items from local businesses and festival vendors; contests with prizes throughout the day.  Festival admission is free; kids' area wristband - $8.

    8th Annual Dishes for Wishes benefiting Make-A-Wish® Mid-South.  The event takes place at Memphis' own Felicia Suzanne's restaurant from 5p-8p and attendees will sample popular dishes from surrounding downtown restaurants and enjoy the awesome atmosphere that is downtown Memphis.  It's all for a good cause, too, as proceeds benefit the Mid-South Chapter of Make-A-Wish®, a nonprofit that seeks to grant the wishes of children in the Mid-South who battle life-threatening medical conditions.  Some sponsors of the event include Baker Donelson, Data Facts, and ServiceMaster.  If you would like to learn more about becoming involved in the efforts to grant wishes to sick children through events like this one, please visit www.midsouth.wish.org or call their office at 901-680-WISH (9474).

    Tunica RiverPark Open House, 4-8 p.m. To celebrate the Tunica RiverPark's newest exhibits, Delta Artists, Plantation to Prosperity: A Black Family History in the Mississippi Delta, Mound Builder Interactive and Wildlife Spotting Interactive – the RiverPark is hosting a free open house night. Visitors will be able to tour the exhibits and meet the artists behind the Delta Artists exhibit. These artists created a diverse style of two and three-dimensional pieces that reflect the Mississippi Delta's features and personality. Museum curators will also be on hand to discuss the new exhibits. The event will include light hors d'oeuvres, beer and wine and entertainment provided by Good Company Trio.

    March for Babies presented by FedEx.  This annual event takes place at Shelby Farms, with all proceeds  to benefit the March of Dimes and its fight against infant mortality, premature birth and birth defects.  The walk is 4 ½ miles with two checkpoints serving beverages and refreshments along the route of the walk.  Registration is at 8 AM and the walk begins at 9 AM.  2013 marks the 75th Anniversary of the March of Dimes and the walk will highlight the achievements of the MOD, including the development of the polio vaccine and advancements in infant health.     tnAchieves is a last dollar scholarship and mentoring program designed to provide an opportunity for TN public high school graduates to receive up to $3,000 annually for community college tuition.  Any individual, over the age of 21, who wants to invest 10-15 hours annually assisting 5 high school seniors with post-secondary success is eligible to serve as a mentor.  The role is really more of an advocate where you simply keep the students on track and help them complete the necessary forms within the proper deadlines.  For more info visit www.tnachieves.org or contact Kaci Murley at 901-258-2177 or kaci@tnachieves.org

    The Memphis Crisis Center needs volunteers to answer their Hotlines.  The Memphis Crisis Center has been a volunteer-powered lifeline to hope for over 40 years.   Trained volunteers - using a combination of empathic listening and crisis intervention - help callers in distress and link them with the long-term resources they need to cope and overcome.  Along with the Crisis Line, the Memphis Crisis Center also administers the Call-4-Kids Hotline, the Senior-B-Safe Line, the Ryan White HIV Care Line, and is the local affiliate of National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.  All programs are free, safe, and confidential.  If you, your friends or anyone in your company is interested, and at least 18 years of age, contact volunteers@crisis7.org or call (901) 649-8572 to learn more.
