A beautiful start to the day, plenty of sunshine and mild temperatures. By lunchtime, clouds will begin to invade the MidSouth and we could see isolated showers crop up by the afternoon. High temperatures in the low 90s feeling like 96 degrees.Showers and thunderstorms becoming more widespread this weekend, just in time for opening football and fair goers. Monday, Labor day, offers an improvement with partly cloudy skies and only a slight opportunity for rain.

Mainly clear skies today, allowing tons of sunshine to heat up the MidSouth afternoon temperatures to mid 90s feeling like 99 degrees. We will remain below Heat Advisory criteria today, but humidity levels will still make the outdoors quite uncomfortable during peak heating hours 2-5pm. Rain arrives in time for this weekend with the best chances Saturday and Sunday. Extra cloud coverage along with showers will promote cooler temperatures.

Summer was late to the game, but we've made up for it the last couple of weeks. We do get a little break this weekend though.

Another hot day with unseasonably warm conditions that continue over the MidSouth. A Heat Advisory remains in effect for most of the FOX13 viewing area until 7 pm for extremely hot and humid conditions that may reach dangerous levels for those spending time outdoors. Afternoon temperatures peaking around 96 degrees, but feeling like 103 to 109 degrees in the shade. Partly cloudy skies today, with only a slight chance of an isolated thunderstorm to provide relief from the heat.Take precautions...

Scattered showers and isolated storms will dominate north Mississippi; but east Arkansas, and west Tennessee are not necessarily in the clear. Our skies across the MidSouth will be partly sunny, and the air thick with humidity boosting the "real feel" temperatures into the upper 90s. Have an umbrella nearby for developing showers and thunderstorms from dawn to sunset.

Clouds building along with the heat and humidity. Thursday's forecast brings us another hot August day with afternoon temperatures climbing into the low 90s but feeling close to 100 degrees. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible later this afternoon and evening popping mainly across the northern areas of our viewing region. Have your umbrellas handy to keep the showers at bay - especially if you plan to head out to vote later in the day.

I hate to say it, but we're going to be wringing the sweat out of our shirts for most of the 7 day forecast. Gross… but true. A cold front pushes through the northern counties of the Mid-South tomorrow. Everybody gets a shot at rain and t'storms, but most of us are going to be in the 90s again. It will be hot and humid with heat indices over 100°. Rain chances are between 30% and 50% from Thursday through next Tuesday. Highs, unfortunately, stay in the 90s too.

An impressive start to the week. More good news, too…it’s going to stick around! Tonight’s low drops to 64°. It’s cooler Tuesday with highs stopping in the mid 80s under mostly clear skies. Wednesday picks up a small chance for light showers as temps repeat from Tuesday. As of right now, highs won’t get out of the 80s this week.
