Local Sales Assistant
Primary responsibilities are to assist Account Executives and Sales Management. Responsible for maintaining account files, processing orders, revisions and cancellations. Acts as a liaison between Account Executives, agency buyers, reps and clients. Assist in sales commercial production as needed. Also responsible for filing, answering phones, general administrative work and other duties as assigned. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. Must be able to calculate figures and prioritize assignments. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work well under pressure and be a "team player". College degree preferred. One to two years office or related experience preferred.
This full time position is responsible for coordinating all activities in the Studios and production areas of the station. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, cueing and prompting the on-air talent during all newscasts and studio productions. Oversee the staging, lighting and general appearance of the studios and all other duties as assigned. During live or recorded programming, the Production Assistant will take direction from the Show Director. Candidate will also operate the teleprompt system and set and/or change lighting and lighting cues as required for the shows. Audio engineering experience is a plus.
Four year college degree preferred. Position requires the handling of multiple demands with professionalism and results. The ability to work under pressure and work in a cohesive team environment is a must. This person must have clear verbal skills and a patient, positive demeanor. Must be willing to work nights and weekends and be able to lift 25 to 50lbs.
Produce fast-paced, informative newscasts that stand out in a very competitive market. Obtain information essential to news broadcasts to research and generate news story ideas, cultivate contacts, sources, and relationships. Work with managers and staff in news gathering. Dispatch and monitor crews, monitor for breaking news, and other duties as assigned. 2 years' experience producing newscasts is required. Must have computer skills and the ability to operate scanners and two way radios. Good communication skills a must. College degree in communications or related field is preferred.
Install and maintain television
broadcast equipment. Troubleshoot to component level. Operate automated Master
Control system on occasion. Support broadcast operations. Maintain physical
plant. On call duty required in rotation with other Engineers for studio
equipment and exclusively for transmitter equipment. Serve as Alternate Chief
Operator for FCC compliance purposes and other duties as assigned.
Requires solid foundation in electronic, with particular skill in troubleshooting circuits. Requires knowledge of high-power RF transmitting systems and experience maintaining transmitters. Should be familiar with FCC rules and ATSC specifications. Must meet physical requirements traditionally required by this position (some overhead lifting is required).
