HOOVER, Ala. (AP) - LSU scored a 3-2 victory over Alabama yesterday in a Southeastern Conference tournament elimination game. Tyler Moore and Ty Ross had run-scoring hits with two outs in the ninth. The Tigers face Arkansas in the semifinals today.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The Grizzlies are down 0-2 to the San Antonio Spurs in their first Western Conference final, but they dug themselves out of a 0-2 deficit in the first round against the Clippers. No NBA team has won separate series in the same postseason after trailing 0-2, but they see only opportunity at home. Game 3 is tonight.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The American Red Cross will be accepting donations from fans attending the Memphis Grizzlies' next two home games in the Western Conference finals against San Antonio, and guard Tony Allen will match those gifts. Allen played at Oklahoma State in college.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Dick Evey (EE'-vee), a tackle who played most of his eight seasons in the NFL with the Chicago Bears, has died at age 72. Smith Funeral & Cremation Service in Maryville, Tenn., says he died Thursday at the Ben Atchley State Veterans Home in Knoxville after a long illness.
