MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The Grizzlies are enjoying a day off after clinching the franchise's first berth in the Western Conference finals. Good thing too since they can use a little rest after all that hard work. Memphis eliminated the defending Western champs in five games, beating Oklahoma City 88-84 on Wednesday night.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam says he was "absolutely not" aware of and did not participate in the practices that led to the federal investigation into his Pilot Flying J company. Haslam, who bought the Browns last year, says he takes responsibility for what happens at his company, a truck-stop chain that is the nation's largest diesel fuel retailer.

(AP) - Connecticut Sun guard Kara Lawson is the winner of the WNBA Dawn Staley Community Leadership Award. WNBA president Laurel J. Richie said that "Kara is an ambassador and leader for all levels of basketball as well as a role model to girls and women everywhere" in a release Thursday announcing Lawson as the award recipient.

MIAMI (AP) - NL RBI leader Brandon Phillips homered in the sixth inning and drove in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly in the 10th, helping the Cincinnati Reds complete their second 3-game sweep in a row by beating the Miami Marlins 5-3 Thursday night. Mat Latos and two relievers combined on a six-hitter.
